New Season New Team?
George Washington football has had amazing talent come and go throughout the years, but this year, they truly have something special. With an offense stacked with speed and strength and a powerhouse defense, the Patriots football team could do something this year. With about 22 players deep going into each game, depth “would be this teams downfall” according to CHSAA Football experts.
Beginning the season 2-2, injuries and ineligibilities have plagued the Patriots resulting in 2 losses back to back. Give our Patriots some credit, they went toe to toe with two Class 4A schools. “Depth and injuries hurt us during those games” said Jahvell Johnson-Humphries, a senior wide receiver. “If we prepare and play like we did for the first two games, we should win out this season”.
In the past few years, the patriots have shown signs of greatness but could not win consistently. The “culture change”, meaning new coaches, new philosophies, and new brotherhood, has better prepared this team to keep something great going and has inspired the players to make a playoff run. Stay tuned patriots, something’s-a-brewin for this team.
